Rachael Eliker has always loved horses and was fortunate to get Stoney, a flashy overo paint gelding as a teenager. Together, the two have competed in everything from dressage to show jumping to eventing. After completing a bachelor's degree in Animal Science from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Stoney moved with Rachael and her husband to a rundown farmstead in Iowa where Stoney lived happily in the pasture. A new horse, nicknamed Dancer, three little girls and a fixed up homestead later, Rachael moved with her family to Indiana. When Rachael’s not writing, she’s wrangling the girls, working on her farmer’s tan, hanging precariously from ladders, getting dirt under her nails, nurturing her love/hate relationship with running and of course, riding Stoney and Dancer.
