Biography

Patrick A. Meade was born in Oakland CA, USA, and moved to Mexico at the age of two, where most of his extended family live. He spent his early childhood in Mexico City and then moved to Monterrey, where he studied at ITESM University and graduated as a Mechanical Engineer. Patrick has had a lifelong interest in technology, among other things.

Following a brief stint working in Monterrey, Patrick decided to further his education and moved to Germany to pursue a master’s degree in Automation Systems and Information Technology, which he attained from the Graduate School at Esslingen University. Since completing it, Patrick has worked as an engineer in Mannheim, Germany, specializing in energy and process optimization projects.

Despite his successful career he always had the desire to become a writer. Having enjoyed writing since he was a teenager, Patrick began to develop stories for his children as they came to an age they could enjoy being read to. The concept of writing a book was always in the back of his mind but it was encouragement from his wife and mother that eventually spurred him to action.

His first book, "The Monsterinos and the Chattering Rabbits Clan" is a children’s picture book inspired by his childhood pets, extensive traveling, and vivid imagination. His work tells the story of a young family who move to the countryside in search of a better life and become captivated by the surroundings of their new home. The children then embark on a quest to save the life of one of their new friends, Tailtin, a bunny they find in the forest. Originally written in Spanish, it has now been translated into English, German, and Polish as well, the four main languages spoken by Patrick’s family.

Today, Patrick lives in the quaint German town of Weinheim with his wife and four children. The family enjoys spending time with each other while doing simple things – often they can be found cooking together, reading, and walking through the woods. They are also enthusiastic about gardening and growing their own food, camping, and traveling.

As far as the future is concerned his greatest ambition is to successfully help his children to find and follow their own way, becoming fulfilled, happy adults. He also wants to further develop his writing skills and continue creating books that leave a positive impact on his readers and let them see how fantastic our world is.
