Blackmailed and framed for murder, Quinn must figure out who the real killer is before paradise becomes her worst nightmare . . .
A sexy temptation leads to betrayal and murder . . .
Quinn Miller never expected to develop anxiety after winning the biggest case of her career. Following the stunning courtroom victory, the smart, savvy litigator suffers a series of embarrassing defeats. Desperate to get her career back on track, Quinn takes an excursion to a secret tropical hideaway to cure her irrational fears.
The hotel promises instant gratification, and a dalliance with a sexy chauffeur doesn’t disappoint. But, when she starts to get attached to his sizzling kisses, she wonders if the tropics might be a bit too hot to handle. Just when she decides to leave the island, she becomes the victim of a treacherous scam. The sexy chauffeur offers assistance, but how can she trust him when she learns about his connection to the crooks?
After she’s knocked unconscious during a violent confrontation with the scam artist, she wakes to find her attacker in a pool of blood—stabbed with the same knife she used to protect herself. Arrested for a murder she didn’t commit, Quinn must fight to clear her name. She has no one to turn to except the sexy chauffeur, who may have his own reasons for wanting the attacker dead. As Quinn gets closer to the truth, she finds herself in the crosshairs of a vicious killer, and if she can’t figure out who the real murderer is, paradise could become her worst nightmare.
This was an interesting read. Keeping up with the twists was not the problem, interpreting them was for me. I did not see the end coming. Quinn is confused by strong enough to carry on no matter what, and I loved that. Icarus was an enigma as to who he really was. Together, they made a good team with lots of sparks despite the danger. This kept me entertained, and I enjoyed every minute.
