Enjoying the books. Currently on book 3. Was there reasoning behind setting the books in the timeframe? I just passed a Blockbuster reference and was wondering. Got a 90s style hints in book one, ie dial-up internet, etc.
Hey Eric! I’m so glad you are enjoying them. There is a solid, critical plot reason these books are set in the late ’90s (yes, it goes beyond my love of the era and the fun of writing in it). At this point in the series I am sure you know how much I enjoy setting up plot dominoes and then knocking them over. I don’t want to spoil any big reveals so I won’t say much more, but by the end of book 3 a very small number of readers have figured out why the ’90s are important. If you haven’t, I’m sure you will soon! Most readers put it together in book 4. Keep looking for clues- everything will click into place soon…
