I'm recovering from body-wide damage from the antibiotic Ciprofloxacin. I'm out of the wheelchair and working on my next two novels. I'm writing "Hot Nights and Cold Wars" and "Triple Apocalypse" together and I will release together also them.

Biography

Decades ago, it was Star Wars that got me into writing. Who else would write a book on politics with multiple Star Wars references in the first chapter? I've been a storyteller all my life, honing my craft for decades. I shifted from screenplays to novels, which is why my writing style is so cinematic.

From working in IT at UCLA to coding on billion-dollar e-commerce systems for multiple Fortune 500 entertainment companies, I've worked in technology for almost a quarter-century. I was a programmer in a small team that got awarded P.C. Magazine's Editor's Choice for Best Virtual Desktop.

I've retired from software to write full time.

Favorite Place to Write

I write at my computer, but there's lots of pacing in my room while I act out scenes. For thinking, walking works great.

Do You Listen to Music While Writing? What Kind?

I pick music based on the emotion of the scene. For the finale in book one, I worked myself into an emotional frenzy with Lana Del Ray's "Born to Die." The chapter "Visiting Armageddon" was Boards of Canada. For action scenes I use metal, industrial, EBM, darkwave, trance, or movie soundtracks. For sad scenes I use downbeat music like Depeche Mode or Sarah McLaughlin.
