Description
James Taylor sells his Texas ranch and moves back to his hometown of Sweet Water, Michigan, bringing along his horses. He has a problem of being too polite and using his cowboy charm around the women, and has a hard time telling them ‘no’, or ever making a decision.
Mindy MacAllister moves to her grandfather’s farm with her young daughter, and is surprised to find the farmhand is none other than James – the boy she’s had a crush on since she was a child. Mindy wants nothing more than to settle down and raise a family with James, but when a relationship starts up between them, she finds herself keeping her dark past a secret.
But when her secrets are exposed, James finds himself challenged, and having to make the hardest decision of his life.
Can a gentle cowboy and a troubled woman come to terms with each other’s flaws before they are torn apart from each other forever?
I enjoyed this story. Mindy (Melinda) was trying to reconnect with family after a very rough past. She was a strong woman who did not fully believe in herself. With all that haunted her, she wanted better. James wasn’t prepared for what was to come. He was caring most of the time as well as selfish at other times. The two complemented each other, and it was great as they worked out the history and their future. With some other sideline stories, this story showed how family can come together. I still have more to read in this series and look forward to doing so.
This is my unsolicited review.
