Description
Vincente Bianchi is second-guessing his decision to be a stand-in date for a Valentine’s weekend charity ball. Family duty compels him, but he’s not one for last-minute plans, or set-up dates. Though he hasn’t seen his date, Gina Marchesi, in eight years, he figures the evening will be a pleasant one between old acquaintances. Then Gina walks into North Beach Bakery and turns his rule-bound life inside out with her beauty, impetuousness, and burgeoning trust in him.
Gina Marchesi impulsively decides that one date with Vincente can resolve her decade-long crush on the intense, caring man whose family her dad dislikes. When Gina and Vincente’s date falls flat, and her plans to save the family bakery deflate, she wonders what’s left for her. In trying to recover her family, her faith, and her life, one person stays constant: Vincente. As they grow closer, Gina and Vincente soon discover that sometimes our deepest yearnings are the answers to our prayers.
