Trust Not The Trickster: Intrigue, on the Soo Kari'Ma savanna

For a century or more, a line of imposing fortresses have guarded every pass through the Demonspine Mountains that separate the human kingdom of Pelinon from the savanna to the west. Strakha SunJim is one such fortress.

For a century or more, the coyote-like Soo Kari’Ma have patrolled their eastern border, always watching for intruders or threats from the human kingdom. Shaman Ka’Deryn Kallatock is one such Soo Kari’Ma.

When Ka’Deryn captures a pair of trespassing human poachers, he is obliged to return them, safe and unharmed, to their commander at SunJim. War is brewing, though the Pelinese have numbers on their side. Worse, they have ready access to plenty of iron and steel, something the savanna lacks entirely. Ka’Deryn is cunning, blessed with the ka’maro Life Magic, and not likely to miss an opportunity if one presents itself. When foolish guardsmen grant him one, he and an unlikely ally take full advantage.
