Description
Teresa Newfield was forced into marriage by her brother Patrick to Lord Belmure eight years ago. Their marriage was based on convenience alone: Patrick needed money and Lord Belmure was in need of an heir. In the first year of their marriage, Teresa gave birth to a son named Alex. Then eighteen months ago, Lord Belmure died after suffering a heart attack. Teresa and Alex have lived peacefully in the countryside since his death. But matters take a dark turn when Patrick shows up and threatens Teresa. She’s left with no other choice but to go along with her brother’s scheme of posing as a governess in order to steal a valuable diamond necklace belonging to Viscount Aldbury.
Edward Thatcher retired from the war office two years ago after a tragic incident claimed his best friend Caleb’s life. He is filled with regret and is haunted by nightmares as he blames himself for what happened. After Edward is invited by his brother Viscount Aldbury to spend the summer with their family in the countryside, he decides that some time away in the fresh country air will do him good. The last thing he expects is to be intrigued by the newly appointed governess . . . Miss Fairfax!
Edward struggles to overcome his past, while Teresa is driven by her need to protect her son. Will Edward and Teresa be able to overcome the obstacles set in their path and live happily ever after?
