Description
Jane Wheeler enjoys playing the London debutante as a house guest of the Dowager Marchioness of Boxwood. Just as she amused herself the previous fall by playing the lady’s maid for her cousin, then a dowager baroness. But neither role fits the well-connected daughter of a country solicitor. Not really.
She longs to find her ideal future. Whatever that looks like.
Thomas Simmons would love nothing more than to escape the shadow of his long-dead father. But he has obligations to fulfill and some things feel more important than his conscience. So nothing is likely to change. No matter how much he wishes for it.
When a mutual acquaintance throws together the feather-headed debutante and stoic London solicitor, they mix as well as oil and water.
Then a chance encounter shows them that there may be more there than meets the eye. And perhaps a chance at a future full of love and laughter.
If only they can learn to overcome the past and trust the future. And each other.
