Description
In The Phoenix of Kiymako Never must navigate a secretive new culture ruled by warrior monks. Distrusted and hunted for his blood, he must forge new alliances while following the dark trail his father has left. If Never can survive, it will lead to both his long lost sister and—finally—the truth about his mysterious name.
Excellent sequel that should be read directly after finishing Imperial Towers! Once again, Capes captures the reader’s imagination with his engaging style of narration. Never continues to be a fascinating figure in an epic fantasy that is unpredictable and unique. I loved the exploration of Kiymako and its culture, without using cliches or reverting to film-style commentary on the action. Perfectly paced with a seamless plot that is revealed subtly to the satisfaction of this reader.
