Koschei, the leader of the hated Dark Elves, struck down Pad’maa in the climactic battle. Though unexpectedly, rather than die, Pad’maa caught fire and destroyed the undead legions of Shard Kesi . . . then Valdr killed Koschei in retribution. But this all happens in the early chapters. Her friends grieve Pad’maa’s apparent death and move on to the Shard of Quigui de Tudi. While in the Abyssal Void, Thanatos, Patron god of the Dark Elves, allows his main enforcer among the living to return to the land of the living, to turn Shard Quigui de Tudi into the Coalitions grave. This might not be too much of a problem, as the Nine Imperium’s of Da-Dingo, the primary superpower of Shard Quigui de Tudi, has been worshiping the Dark Elves as gods since the chaotic years following the Sundering.

But amid all this chaos, two figures arise. Two figures have been in the background, watching and waiting for the right moment to intervene. Chol Bluefeather, a (relatively) young Phoenix, and . . . well you going to have to read this story to know the other guy’s name.
