Description
My daughter’s first day of school is full of surprises. Especially when her new teacher turns out to be my high school sweetheart, the one that got away.
When I joined the army sixteen years ago, Harper walked away. Now I’m back, and my only priorities are rebuilding Hickory Falls and raising my little girl.
Being a single dad doesn’t mean I’m the lonely lumberjack everyone says I am. But seeing my best friend’s sister for the first time in years has me wanting more.
The hurt of past betrayals feels too great to overcome. Giving our love a second chance would mean trusting Harper with my heart, and my daughter’s.
Do I risk it all for a potential lifetime with the only woman I have ever loved, or guard our hearts and lose her forever?
This is a sweet, heartwarming story of second chances and the transformative power of forgiveness and unconditional love.
*Trigger Warning: I write stories about real-life issues. This story deals with emotional trauma from the loss of children, abandonment, and mentally abusive relationships. There are no graphic details, but the hurt is explained as the characters grow and heal. These topics could trigger some readers. Please read with caution.
This author just keeps getting better and better. This story definitely tugged at my heartstrings. It is so important to talk to those who are important in your life and to take time to listen. Don’t just assume (you know what the proverb about “assume” means) you know something because until you actually listen and talk, you may be surprised to learn you didn’t know what you thought you did. This book proved that proverb over and over, but in the end when parties were willing to learn to actually communicate and listen – voila – HEA (Happpily Ever After)!!! Nothing shows the importance of communication and listening more than this book has. Make sure you have a box of tissues handy when you read this book! It’s amazing.
