Description
Eve LaTourneau needed to get some space.
A failed marriage, a waning career, she needed to discover her passion and have some adventures.
But Eve wanted more . . . she wanted adventure, she wanted to see the world, but most of all, she wanted to bring news stories to the world.
Worthy news stories.
Eve decides to get away and rediscover herself while working on her first manuscript. She rents a beach house on the Gulf of Mexico where she can be close to nature and far, far away from her past life. When a chance encounter occurs on the beach near the cabin that Eve has rented, she is amazed to discover that she can be adventurous and liberated.
An unquenchable steamy relationship begins with a man she does not even know! As an investigative reporter, Eve stumbles on another mystery, right in her own rented home, and is forced to channel her strength and beat back her desire to try to survive her escapade.
After her traumatic sabbatical, Eve moves to Victoria, BC to ramp up her journalism career and is given a foreign assignment in the second series An African Affair, where she travels to Zimbabwe, Africa, where she will report on poaching.
She is to stay at a compound out in the middle of the African plains for six months. Graeme Van der Merwe, who runs the compound is a former Environmental Biologist who has dedicated his life to saving the African wildlife. Although Eve has sworn off men and is focusing on her career as an investigative reporter, there is something about this man who is old enough to be her father.
Will Eve have the strength to resist her desires for this handsome older man, or will she launch an affair? An African Affair.
The third series Jamais et Toujours, starts on Eve’s return flight to Canada, she reflects on the tragedy in her life.
Maybe she was just not made for love.
Eve takes the role of lead anchor at the network, with the agreement that she can be the lead reporter on any breaking stories she finds interesting, to keep her fingers in the pie, so to speak.
Her coworkers begin to think of her as “that bitch,” except for her one friend, Carl, who tries to get Eve out of her slump. She is not messing around—everything is about business, her reputation, and reporting the news—there is nothing else.
In this third series in the Eve LaTourneau Journey, Jamais et Toujours, we are introduced to Shawn McGuire, a self-centered, egotistical, outdoorsy type who does not believe that anyone can have a passion for the environment and earth like he does.
This extremely hot and fit runner is on a mission.
He has a story that he has uncovered in Venezuela, but he needs an investigative reporter to help him reveal the truth and bring the story back to the world. Eve joins his mission, but is annoyed by his ego and arrogance, although entranced by his good looks and surprising moments of kindness.
Her emotions are in a turmoil.
No matter how hard Shawn hits on her, Eve pushes him away. Now they are stuck together in the jungle, does jamais really mean never?
Does it have to be this way, toujours?
