Lady Isabella Bentley is trying her best to raise her two children after the death of her husband two years ago. Isabella’s marriage had been arranged by her father after she was left brokenhearted by Lord Pearson. Isabella met Lord Pearson during her come out and they had fallen in love. But he left her to marry another lady. Isabella receives an invite from her mother for her and the children to spend the summer with her. The last thing Isabelle expects is to encounter Lord Pearson, now the Earl of Netherwood.

Luke Pearson—the Earl of Netherwood—has been living as a recluse in Bath after the death of his wife 18 months ago.
