Description
The Caverns of Stillwater is a completed 72,000-word mystery novel set in rural Missouri. The novel’s main character, Bernd Devlin, is a disbarred attorney who is now a private investigator in Miami. Devlin receives a call one day and is set to inherit a multi-million-dollar estate from his alleged Uncle John in Missouri. Devlin gets to the small town and is soon investigating a serial killer who may have been “Uncle John.” In order to save his inheritance, and more importantly, clear Uncle John’s name, Devlin is required to delve deep in the caverns that surround Uncle John’s property and confront the true killer.
The Caverns of Stillwater is told in a first-person narrative from Devlin’s view point. Devlin’s tone is not dark, but more sarcastic and light. The novel would appeal to a large portion of the public as it presents a mystery that can be followed with some plot twists, but is not overly complicated. Further, while the novel does involve a monster, little gore is presented to the reader.
