Description
If only I weren’t her boss and trusted friend . . .
War taught me there are things worth fighting for, and Natalie is one of them. I was drawn to her the day I hired her, and keeping my distance has been difficult.
We’re total opposites, but after spending days working on this conservation project together, I can’t get enough of her. She’s a free-spirited nomad who fears being tied down, even by love.
I’m damaged in so many ways. If she finds out my secrets, I will lose her forever.
What I should do is walk away before her life is ruined.
I can see my happily ever after in her eyes. But, do I deserve it?
This is a heartwarming HEA tale about the power of facing one’s fears and learning to love imperfections.
*Reader’s Note: This is an ex-military story. There are several mentions of trauma and injuries the men endured. There are no gore or graphic descriptions, but the situations described could trigger some readers.
TRIGGER WARNING: Discussions of battle during military service and injuries/death. PTSD
Tom is a wounded veteran with a past that makes him very OCD about certain parts of his life and wanting to stay close to home, alone. Natalie is a nomad that does things completely different. However, they are both big on protecting nature and feel a connection to each other. Can he open up about his past and relax some of his coping methods? Will she be able to set down roots?
What becomes of their relationship?
I received an ARC via Booksprout. Review voluntarily given.
story of Tom and Natalie. They were both great characters and lovely people. The supporting cast, Sarah and Eric, were delightful too. I now want to hear their story, and I really didn’t want to leave Tom and Natalie yet. That’s one way I can always identify a wonderful book—-the people and the story kind of linger for awhile.
My thanks to the author for the ARC. my review is voluntary.
