Description
A horrendous true story of child abuse, and one little boy’s courageous will to survive.
As the author, Maurice takes us through his journey of abuse.
Maurice starts his book out by giving us account of his first memory of life at the young age of three years.
He sees his mother as a very caring, gentle woman and sees the same in his four older brothers.
On the outside, his father is seen as a hard working, church-going, caring man that would do anything for anyone, but within the home he was an evil, sadistic, manipulative, violent predator that got immense pleasure in torturing small kids. Maurice hopes in time that the man that was meant to care and look out for him would change, and he could start to live a normal and happy childhood. But as time goes on, his father’s evil ways escalate, and a shocking and unimaginable string of events unfold that turns into an abusive nightmare.
As the abuse goes on, Maurice decides to stay quiet about what was happening to him, thinking this would mentally destroy his mother, and that his father would end his life if he ever spoke out. His father cuts off everyone in Maurice’s life who could potentially protect him. Left to fight for survival, only he can save himself.
If you are a reader who likes to be kept engaged in the unthinkable, and given an in-depth vivid look at what a child’s mind looks like while enduring abuse, this is a must read.
Maurice writes his story to help other victims see that they can come out the other side of abuse and salvage a normal life, and encourages silent victims to tell their stories to create more awareness and prevent the children of now and the future from falling victims of abuse. He also tells his story to raise money for children in danger.
For every book sold, a donation will be made to the NSPCC.
