Lark agrees to leave his poor family in order to provide medicine for his dying mother. He is transported to Mynixi, a school for children like him who have a Spark or a special ability. Starting school is supposed to be a fun and exciting time for any new student. But for Lark, a skilled archer and fledgling mind-reader, it’s a creative form of torture.
