Grace Bennett hates her job. The burned-out journalist drags through days covering murder and mayhem. When an aunt she can scarcely remember leaves her a house, she jumps at the chance for an overdue sabbatical.

Grace needs a remodeler who can give the outdated house a facelift, but the best man for the job comes with a chip on his shoulder and a mother who communicates with spirits. In fact, the whole community is filled with purveyors of the paranormal.
