Description
Tough ex-cop Nate Lowell senses danger in his woods. Investigating the loggers threatening his werewolf pack’s forest leads him right into a trap. Help arrives in the shocking form of his worst enemy, Diana. She’s bear shifter, and hates Nate for being the loyal second-in-command to his werewolf pack. Despite her scorn, he’s never been able to get her out of his mind. He can’t think of anyone he’d rather be naked and near death with than the gorgeous werebear.
Top conservation lawyer Diana Moonbear is stubborn to a fault, but she has a good heart underneath her hard exterior. When she stumbles across the handsome werewolf Nate bleeding in the metal jaws of the horrible trap, she puts aside her grudges, frees him, and hurries him to the hospital in a desperate bid to save his life.
Though Diana’s vowed to only mate with another bear in order to secure the future of her clan, the self-confessed virgin has to admit the injured wolf shifter is awakening fiery emotions she’s kept dammed up for too long.
Seeking ways to prevent the forest from falling to chainsaws, Nate and Diana become allies to stop the greedy loggers by whatever legal means they can. Working closely together draws them to each other even more. Diana takes him home with her to her penthouse to care for him as he heals from his near-death experience. She allows Nate to see the real her, and all they share increases the spark that’s always been between them in spite of her prickly exterior.
Nate can’t believe Diana’s become his nurse as well as fellow truth-seeker. But living in the same apartment is bittersweet. He’s pretty sure even if they ever became lovers, he would be nothing more than a fling to the incredible werebear. Will fighting for justice show them that they’re made for each other?
