Description
Birdie Jo has more than herself to worry about as she sets forth on an adventure along the waters of the Oswegatchie River. Technological warfare has forced Birdie and her little brother Rylan to flee their long-time home and head to the only place they can think of: Canada. However, they don’t have to battle the waters of the mighty St. Lawrence rivers alone; they meet kindred spirits on their journey that adopt them and bring them to their home north of Kingston.
Although the river that leads them there is different, they aren’t the only ones that are trying to reach safety. Dakota, the only family member missing from the Canadian camp, heads up the Hudson River on his own tumultuous journey north. In this tale of survival, family, and love, neither path is easy as each finds drama and near-death adventure along the way.
