Description
As the recipient for the Scholarship for Change at the University of Utah, Jessie Whiting has been given the task of making a difference in the world. The eccentric, anonymous donor who chose her for the scholarship requires that she write once a semester to keep him up to date on how her education is helping her with that task.
Guessing that the emails are merely a formality and won’t actually be read, she uses the emails as a personal journal of her college years. She writes about her family and friends, school, and especially the romance that accompanies her college years. She and Adam start dating, and she can see her future with him clearly. But Will is so real. She can hike in the rain with him, tell him all about the struggles with her family, and he’s the best friend and listener she could ask for. But since Will’s interest only extends to friendship, Jessie must decide if she truly can be happy with Adam. Once it becomes obvious that the scholarship donor is reading her emails, she seeks his advice on relationship matters, seemingly to no avail.
