Description
Aelissm Davis and Patrick O’Neil know of each other but haven’t met. Her meddling uncle has been searching for a way to remedy that, and the events surrounding the sudden death of Aelissm’s boyfriend provide the perfect solution.
A talented crafter in the field of industrial arts, Aelissm is used to handling things herself, but she may be in over her head with a friend who can’t understand that she wants to be alone in the wake of all that’s happened. Things get even more complicated when, instead of advice, her uncle decides to send his detective—one Pat O’Neil—to Montana to keep an eye on her. At first, Pat wants to turn down the assignment, but his boss has a point. After three years of working himself too hard to move past the violent end of his last relationship, a vacation is exactly what he needs.
There’s little doubt that Aelissm’s uncle is playing matchmaker again. Pat isn’t ready for a new relationship and doubts he’ll ever be, but his boss’s sassy, compassionate niece might be the woman to prove him wrong. Aelissm isn’t looking for a man, either, but she is irresistibly drawn to Pat, a haunted man with a gentle heart and sad eyes. He could be the best thing to ever happen to her . . . if she can convince him to stay.
