Description
A blackhearted man with murder on his mind. A Victorian chimney sweep dealing with devastating loss. And an unexpected spin through time that tips everything on its head.
Following the savage death of his fiancee Annie at the hands of Jack the Ripper, Elliot Cinder sinks into deep despair. However, everything changes on the night he meets a stranger with an intriguing tale to tell. Before long, Elliot has jumped from 1889 to modern day London where he is tasked with protecting innocent women from a cunning potential serial killer dubbed the Knave.
While Elliot struggles to assimilate into an era where men and women have reached a degree of equality, he is proud to honour Annie’s memory by preventing the Knave from claiming a victim. Unfortunately, the Knave has more than one trick up his sleeve and the tables are soon turned on Elliot.
On top of everything else, what’s a stubbornly chauvinistic chimney sweep to do when he finds himself falling for his aloof female boss, a woman hiding heartache of her own?
