Description

Deputy Sergio Desoto made a deathbed promise to his brother to always look after his wife, Salome—or Sal, as the whole Desert Springs police department affectionately calls her. Everybody loves Sal, including Sergio who has secretly been in love with her for years, though his honor and integrity have never allowed him to pursue her.

He despairs of ever being able to keep the lovely nurse safe from a vengeful drug cartel that will stop at nothing in their quest to turn him into a dirty cop on their payroll. So he comes up with a plan to send Sal and his six-year-old son into hiding until he can resolve the escalating threats to their lives once and for all.

But Sal has other ideas. She’s proud to be a Desoto, and she doesn’t believe running is the answer. If she refuses to go into hiding, however, Sergio will have to deal with something far more daunting than the crosshairs of a hitman. He’ll finally have to face his feelings for her!
