Description
Stories filled with everything Christmas brings . . . family, friends, Christmas trees, huge meals, childhood Christmas memories, mothers baking turkey, sibling bickering that goes on into adulthood . . . and knowing no matter where you are . . . home isn’t always a place . . . it’s the people who live there.
This includes:
Home Again for Christmas (part of the Return to Summit Falls series)
Years ago four young men left their hometown of Summit Falls. Each of them ready to take on whatever the world had to throw at them. Now, years later, three of them, Jonah Sutherland, Adam Dane, and Nicolas Franklin are home again in Summit Falls for Christmas.
As the Christmas holiday approaches, theirs lives are filled with weighty decisions, and for a few of them that includes the difficult choice of what gifts to buy for their new wives. It is a humorous moment for a few of the life-long friends, and for the others it is anything but funny.
Her Letter
Just days before Christmas, after returning from a business trip, Luke Sutherlin found the last thing he would have ever expected.
Her letter.
Luke knew he would only ever have to read it once. Each word was now seared into his memory. He knew too it wasn’t something she had done easily. Her every written word tells him.
Their home is empty without her. Little things like her footsteps on the stairs, the way she hummed when she made dinner, all those things he never really noticed before . . . but he does now.
As Christmas draws closer, one thing is clearer to Luke than it has ever been before. Nothing is more important than his wife. His family. With her letter emblazoned in his memory, he sets out to find the man he’d once been . . . the one his wife wants back.
The Last Christmas Ornament
Jenna didn’t have to look around her home with its colorful and shining Christmas decorations, the tall Christmas tree in her front room with the many Christmas ornaments that each told in a special way the story of her family, to know that no matter what she did,, the holiday would never again be the same.
Her children no longer ran through their home, their laughter could no longer be heard throughout the day and so often into the late hours of the night. Their toys weren’t scattered in every possible corner, there was no longer the rush to get their special Christmas ornaments onto the Christmas tree.
And now, there were no more unexpected companions during those many late night excursions as there had once been…would never be again.
Yet on this day more special than any other, she finds that the Christmas holiday brings an unexpected gift. And that the journey she was about to embark on only days after Christmas would no longer be one she would take alone.
A Christmas Dinner on Marshall Street (part of the Hills of Burlington series)
There’s really only one thing Fran Wrightmire wants for Christmas . . . it is also the most unlikely gift that she’ll receive.
Her husband, Cade, knows that it’s beyond his power to deliver the one gift he knows would make his wife happiest this holiday season. But that doesn’t mean he isn’t without other ideas of what will make her Christmas one to remember. He’s taking her home to the hills of Burlington for a reunion with family and friends and the yearly tradition of Christmas dinner at the historic Marshall Street house where so many generations of her family lived.
And as Christmas draws near, Fran comes to understand the words her father had once shared with her so many years ago during another visit to Burlington.
