Description
In a world of tainted sorcery and magitech, an ingenious fusing of magic and machine, Arix Vaden must unravel the mystery of his Fates Walker status and try to protect the Starr of the Shining Suns, an ancient and sentient sword which grants the user the abilities of its slain foes. All while battling a nigh-invulnerable ice elf despot, deadly assassins, and powerful monsters, and trying to earn his place in the country’s most successful monster hunter’s guild, Hidden Dawn.
Eighteen-year-old Arix Vaden leads a sheltered life in the sleepy town of Tyrus. Unbeknownst to him, Thai’sis-Roth, a powerful ice elf from the forbidden mainland of Sontaran, with the help of the lethal Black Lotus assassins and a legion of unknown monstrosities, are invading his home continent of Lyventhia, starting with the capital city of New Ryja.
Tragedy strikes in the form of the Twelve Hells most powerful Gnarl demon as it decimates his town. Narrowly saved by the monster hunter’s guild, Hidden Dawn, Arix is confronted with the dark secrets of his father’s past, his enigmatic station as a Fates Walker, and the telepathic calling of the Starr of the Shining Suns; a sword that helped the invincible Hidden Dawn guild leader, Sir Naramis Keth, become one of the greatest heroes of all time.
Arix meets new allies in his travels. Tugev, a massive and stoic four-armed warrior who must overcome his past failures, Prince Oren, a cocky and fun-loving winged telarian with unparalleled skill in the art of “weaving” spells, and Wick, a diminutive drae with a brilliant mind for tinkering and a heart of gold. Will they be enough to help battle the forces of Thai’sis-Roth and become true Guardians of the Fates?
