Description
Joe Wisdom is born in Texas at a time and area where there was still an Indian danger. America was nearing the end of its mostly agrarian society and on the cusp of the Industrial Revolution. His fascination with his cattle drover Uncle Ed Wisdom and his passion for Dime Novel Cowboy life helps formulate a plan. He finds the life he seeks was quickly disappearing, and as the turn of the 20-century approaches, he resolves to fashion his own escapade as the lone, stoic, hard-as-nails cowboy.
That is quickly dashed on the hard rock reality of family both current and future. Troubled by the divorce of his parents and lacking knowledge of the reasons, told what he feels are lies about his lost brother, Luther, his independent personality provides both a blessing and a curse. But with unbelievable grit and endless courage, a young boy of fourteen forges headlong into his dream.
