Racing against time, the boys join forces with their state trooper neighbor and three other very unusual allies to battle against the evil taking aim at their friend. Will they find and rescue Hope, or will they fall victim themselves? Whatever happens, they are determined. They will not Abandon Hope.
PG is mostly because of scary scenarios and some violence.
Briggleton’s Choir
The age-old German-chasing-the-Jew tale takes a different turn in this book as the conflicts of World War II are seen through the eyes of a Nazi’s young adolescent son.
To Alfonso, it’s confusing that while he gets in trouble for bullying at school, his father then turns around and becomes a hero for shooting a group of Jews. Then one day, he meets someone who has many things he lacks—confidence, a joy in life, faith, and an incredible voice.
But there’s a glitch. Jacob is a Jew who the bullies lose no chance to torture. Alfonso is torn as he sees Jacob living the kind of life with the peace and hope he wants. He finds himself in a position where an offer is made.
How will he handle the numerous life-changing conflicts coming his way, including the fact that his new friend is a Jew wanted by the Nazis? Will Alfonso be able to stand up for what’s right for the first time in his life? Will he find his voice?
A Confession of Faith
Facing execution for treason, eighteen-year-old Faith Webber recalls her remarkable journey.
Faith Webber is your typical 18-year-old girl who faces the same issues most young adults face . . . with one exception. The Chancellor has sentenced her to be executed for committing treason. Faith recounts a journey filled with suspense and mystery, that began when her father moved her close-knit Christian family to a country where religion is outlawed. Now that her father is away on business more often, Faith grows tired of his secretive activities, and longs for the relationship they once had.
When a handsome young man named Jakob and his family move in across the street, Faith immediately falls in love, unaware of the secrets her new boyfriend is harboring. When a series of shocking revelations about Jakob and her father shakes Faith’s world, she doesn’t know who to trust, or what to do.
When Faith finally learns the truth, she finds herself trapped in an impossible situation with no easy way out. Doing the right thing will endanger those closest to her, and could force Faith to make the ultimate sacrifice.
