Vocal artist Vivienne Bennet makes every effort to stay out of the public eye. She works only nights as she carefully guards the secret of her true nature.

Peter Newman has his own struggles. Between his teetering career as a videographer and his steadily mounting troubles in the vaporous world of spirits, he has his hands full. He wants nothing to do with the temperamental singer.

Unfortunately, both Vivienne and Peter are strong-willed and hot-headed. In fact, there couldn’t be two people less likely to get along. And an unknown barrier has been driving even more of a wedge between them than Peter could know, for Vivienne has recently joined The Sisterhood, a secretive community of women who all have good reasons for hating men.

Yet when the famous singer with the stellar voice finds herself under urgent pressure to film a promo video, a disaster is looming. She soon learns that it’s her reluctant coach who holds the key to success.

Unfortunately, Peter Newman is just as strong-minded as Vivienne. And on top of that, he’s a man whose looks are causing all the other women at the studio to make fools of themselves. But Vivienne finds herself relying upon him despite her vows with The Sisterhood, for he’s her only hope.

It isn’t long before Peter encounters more chilling problems in the spirit world. Then, to her surprise, Vivienne stumbles upon the strange and perilous realm of spirits herself, and she barely escapes the predatory demons that lurk in that otherworld.

From a rehearsal studio in New York to a set of ancient ruins in Ireland, Vivienne and Peter find themselves swept up into greater and greater danger.
