Description
Once a skilled guide for the mysterious Dusk Lane, Rika is finished with travel and danger. From now on he plans to live with his dog in the jungle of Chimelu, isolated and alone.
However, on a trip to the village to get a skillet fixed, he finds himself facing a group in desperate need of his skill, a group that has suffered almost as much loss as he has and that he can’t seem to turn down.
Young Aaden has lost his music; beautiful Suri has lost her voice; bold Annora has lost her future; and all three hope something on the path can restore them. Rika finds he has lost his cold detachment, and as he sinks more deeply into the stories of these travelers, he realizes this trek down the Lane may change his entire life.
Of course, they’re traveling during the rainy season, and one of the group seems to have powerful enemies, so perhaps there’s no risk of anyone surviving to change at all.
