Description
Tess Kincaid has always wanted to visit Egypt and see the Pyramids, the Sphinx, King Tut’s tomb, and Luxor—and what better time than now, in the spring of 1979. With her boyfriend, Eddie Spinozza, and her parents, she plans a two-week vacation to see the sites from Alexandria to Aswan, up and back down the Nile.
The Shah of Iran has recently been deposed and is temporarily in Cairo along with his minions, including members of the SAVAK, his notorious secret police force. His deputy minister and the head of SAVAK want to leave Egypt for the US but must figure out a way to smuggle the millions of dollars of wealth they stole from Iran and get it through US Customs.
The interplay between these two worlds—blissful sightseeing and murderous intrigue—as they slowly collide creates twists and turns that couldn’t have been expected.
