Description
Michael and Alex Nicholas are brothers but are as different as night and day. Michael is CEO of a Fortune 500 company, living a comfortable life in suburban Connecticut. Alex, his older brother, heads up one of the leading loan shark and betting syndicates on the east coast. They don’t have a lot in common except a blood line, but that changes when Alex is gunned down at a restaurant in Queens before he can finish his veal parmigiana and Chivas Regal.
At Alex’s funeral, surrounded by family, friends, and Alex’s shady business associates, Michael receives a startling text. It’s a photo of Alex behind a desk with the words “Life is a dream, and death is waking up.”
If Alex isn’t dead, where is he, and who’s lying in the coffin?
Things are never quite what they seem in this page-turning romp through exclusive hotels and expensive restaurants with beautiful, desperate women, tough-guy thugs, cynical cops and devious wiseguys. As Michael crosses the globe to find the people behind his brother’s murder, the bodies start to fall, and the lines between life, death, the spirit, and the internet blur.
How can Michael avoid his brother’s fate? Just how far beyond death can Alex reach out to help him?
