Description
What would you say if I told you that most Vietnam veterans and police officers I know are reluctant to talk about their experiences or even read stories about them? Not because they don’t want to, but because of the physical and emotional scars they carry with them daily from their military or law enforcement experiences.
Coincidence, You Say?, is a story based on my life. It’s a book that will take you through my childhood and teenage years; it then continues to the three years I spent in Vietnam, my search for God, and the quarter century I worked as a law enforcement officer for a small suburban town in northern New Jersey, and finally, to my battles with the Division of Veterans Affairs (DVA) during my retirement years for the health issues created by the numerous chemicals I was exposed to in Vietnam. Spoiler alert: It wasn’t just Agent Orange!
It’s a book about the folks we call soldiers and police officers. The men and women who choose to stand guard over us by day and by night. In good weather and bad. The guardians who stand in the middle of peace and chaos―good and evil.
It’s a tale of determination and anger―a chronicle written in sorrow with hope for the future. It could be the story of countless veterans and police officers who served in the military and law enforcement.
Coincidence, You Say? isn’t television or a work of fiction. It is real life, and it is indeed stranger than fiction.
I hope my story will help you with your journey through this adventure we call life.
