Description

When Suzanne’s husband, Captain Thomas Spencer, is killed in action, leaving her and their six-year-old daughter Joni, she bottles up the pain of her loss for a decade.

Suzanne fights to reconnect with Joni, hoping it’s not too late. She takes her reluctant daughter on a Christmas vacation to visit the historic military academy where she met Joni’s father.

Mama Jane, next-door neighbor and pseudo-grandmother, gives Joni a journal for the trip and encourages her to write a positive word each day about her mother. But who is Mama Jane?
