Description

Young Amanda is devastated after her entire family dies of cholera on a wagon train to California. But she is determined to reach California and to find her aunt, her last living relative, who is in San Francisco. But the trail master won’t let a woman travel in the wagon train alone.

Fortunately, a handsome and rich young man named Charles allows Amanda to join his wagon party. He is kind and charming, and Amanda quickly finds herself falling for him.

But rugged cowboy Luke, who is working for the trail master, continues to warn Amanda that Charles is not all that he seems. Underneath, something sinister lurks.

Amanda doesn’t know what to believe. But as nice as Charles is, she starts to have suspicions about Charles’ “hotel” that he claims to have in California. And just who is the sick, wild eyed young woman in the back of his wagon?

Will Amanda find out just which man is truly kind at heart? Or will her heart be captured by the wrong one?
