Description
“One. Two. Three. Four. Five—BREATHE!” Steve Thatcher was counting to himself in a fierce, deliberate whisper as he pumped out another series of chest compressions. His rhythmic cadence was scarcely audible to the rest of the boys gathered around the grizzly scene . . .
Steve Thatcher’s family hadn’t always been broken. His dad hadn’t always resented him. His mom and sister hadn’t always been zoned-out. And his older brother hadn’t always been dead, buried in fallen leaves, and twigs, and time.
So when Steve sees a chance to find closure for his family, he steals away from his campsite and friends, plunging into the Wyoming badlands in search of his brother’s remains, but what he finds instead, is waiting to kill him.
