Description
December 1882
Gabrielle Shumway isn’t sure what she wants in life, but whatever it is, it isn’t working in her parents’ bakery indefinitely. Or being courted by stoic attorney, Matthew Washburn. But knowing her parents depend on her, Gabrielle will do whatever it takes to help them out and try to be happy in the meantime.
Matthew Washburn is no stranger to hard work or caring for babies. When someone leaves an infant on Gabrielle’s doorstep while her parents are out of town, Matthew is thrown into the fray. He doesn’t mind helping Gabrielle sort it all out, but past experience has taught him that it’s better to live the life of a bachelor. Yet he can’t help but be drawn to the lovely baker’s daughter, especially when strange things start happening inside the building.
Will they be able to keep their feelings at bay while uncovering the truth? Or are the odds too great?
