Sheriff Dave Trask is on his first vacation in years, on South Padre Island. But it is not his first trip to South Padre. Twenty-five years earlier, on spring break with his college roommate, a girl goes missing. Now the skeleton of a girl has been found throwing suspicion on Trask’s former roommate, Charles Potter, now a prominant businessman and philanthropist.
Dave enlists the help of his brother, Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) Special Agent Don Trask, who asks BCA Agent Danny Carlisle to discreetly look into his brother’s former roommate. But discretion has never been one of Carlisle’s best qualities and soon she has uncovered a series of murders in Texas and Florida that seem to point to Potter, or someone close to him. Carlisle is hot on the trail of the killer when her life is suddenly thrown into turmoil by a murderous drug dealer.
And then there is the Daytona Beach drug lord who is seeking revenge for the murder of his son . . .
