Description
Lady Penelope Webster is the complete opposite of her twin sister Millicent who is known for her daring and rebellious streak. An unexpected change of events sees Penelope switching places with Millicent. Penelope then accompanies her father and grandmother to the Duke and Duchess of Thornedale’s winter house party. At first, everything seems simple enough, and she’s sure she can pull off being Millicent for a week. But Penelope’s world is turned upside down when her father reveals that he wishes for her to marry the duke’s son—Robert Thorne. Millicent and Robert have never gotten along, and there is no way a marriage can ever work between them. Penelope is tasked with pushing away the man she has loved since she was thirteen years old in order to protect her sister’s future happiness.
Robert Thorne has recently returned to London after having spent the last two years traveling. He and his best friend are working on their plan to start a horse breeding business. The last thing he has on his mind is finding a wife. But all that changes when his father reveals that he is in poor health and wishes to see his son married. However, there’s a catch. It’s expected that Robert makes a match with Millicent, a woman he’s never liked. Protestations aside, it appears that he has no choice but to put his pride aside for his father’s sake.
Penelope struggles with her deception as she forms a bond with Robert. Will Robert and Penelope get their happily ever after or will Penelope’s deception tear them apart?
