Description
Raymond has known hardship from a very early age. He witnesses the breakup of his parent’s marriage and finds his mother hanging from the rafters, dead. His father takes to drinking and subjects Raymond to all kinds of cruelty. Finally, Raymond must leave, and he lives rough for several months, but vows one day to make something of himself. He gets a lucky break and gets a job in a restaurant. First as a waiter, but he has an interest in cooking and learns all he can at college. He bluffs his way into another job as a chef in a pub restaurant. Fiercely ambitious, he rebuilds his life but yearns to be a top chef. But to do this he needs money.
Diane is the girl he meets at dance and befriends. When he finds out her parents are very wealthy, he sets about using them to get the money he needs to become a top chef. But he didn’t account for Madge, her mum. No one was good enough for her beautiful little girl. And she would stop at nothing to get rid of him. How could he win her over? And how far would he go to satisfy his ambition and greed? Is he using Diane, or does he really love her? A tale of love, loss, and lust, about what people will do to satisfy their needs, and how it can make or break them.
