Description
Jon is a well-off kid with a stable future. But he can’t shake the feeling that he’s destined for something more—something different and strange, drawn from the stuff of dreams and fantasy. After a fateful encounter with a mysterious stranger, he gets more than he wished for.
Jon stumbles into a fantasy realm, filled with Wolven and witches, goblins and gargoyles. Along the way, he befriends a thief and a Wayfarer, a High Taire Duelist and a half-Elf princess. Wyverns and dragons, wizards and spirits . . . these are just a few of the wonders that appear on his journey.
As a great author once wrote: “There are other worlds than these.”
A Door into Evermoor by Kent Wayne 5/5
Gaming World meets folklore and fantasy films. Been done before? Of course it has. But not like this. I love this fusion of modern day and fantasy tropes. The cultural differences in Nevermoor are beautifully described within the context of Jon’s quest. The characters become people very quickly and I enjoyed the narrator’s quirky way of story telling. For a First Person Present Tense narrative this book held my attention from beginning to end. (I usually struggle with this form of story telling). The thing that really caught my attention and kept me reading was the author’s Conceptual Ideas of Being. I won’t say anymore than that because I prefer to write reviews that don’t contain spoilers. This book is worth reading. Buy it today!
