Hi, I’m Christina Benjamin, author of The Boyfriend series. My 11 book Young Adult series has been my life for the past two years, but this year, I’m excited to be exploring a new genre: Clean Billionaire Romance.
It’s a new genre for me, but it was fulfilling to try my hand at something new after living in the YA world of teen love stories for so long. Choosing to write Clean Romance was a natural progression for me. I wanted something that my current readers could follow without being worried the romance levels would be too steamy. Readers have grown up with my YA Boyfriend characters, and it just felt right to give them the next generation of Book Boyfriends to fall for.
In my new series, Billionaire Boyfriends, the characters are New Adult, 20-somethings navigating the next stage of their life. I love having the added bonus of a billionaire in the mix. Without monetary constraints, the possibilities are as limitless as fiction. And who doesn’t want to be swept off their feet by some gallant billionaire? It’s the modern-day fairytale.
Another reason I moved toward this genre was I feel good about the heat level of the romance. I chose to write in the Clean & Wholesome genre because I truly believe a story should stand on its own and not be totally reliant on the sex scenes. In my new Billionaire Boyfriend series, all the intimate scenes happen off the page. For those that enjoy a peek into the steamier romance moments, I offer access through my newsletter. Subscribers can access my exclusive “Behind Closed Door Scenes” when they join if they so wish.
To me those are the key components to this genre. Sweet love stories, characters you can root for, and some adorable, swoon-worthy book boyfriend moments with a billionaire twist. That’s what you’ll find in my 5-book Billionaire series.
Here are some great books in this category that I recommend:
Sebastian: A Clean Billionaire Romance by Christina Benjamin
I have these 3 books! I love billionaire books.
I have all these books!
I am glad that you decided to write good romances without the hot sexy paragraphs… or entire pages. When I write my whodunits (under the pen name Christina Brett) I also leave those parts untold because I have grandchildren and feel embarrassing to write steamy parts — they all read my books!
I will try your stories.
Stay well, you are my SISTER-IN-CHOCOLATE.
Thanks for the heads-up on your new series. Books with sex (even a little) bore me! I am 70, so nothing is new to me. I always skip those pages! I don’t mind the fact of sex, just lengthy descriptions; just how many ways can one insert Object A into Receptacle B! The end result is always the same, so I am happy not to have my reading pleasure interrupted by bits of extraneous nonsense!
