We are excited to announce that My Book Ratings is almost ready for debut. On My Book Ratings all books submitted will have a permanent content-rated listing, along with their blurbs, regular price, and purchase links. This will be a crowd-based site so everyone who has read a book can rate it for content, comment on specifics, and submit the listing. An overall rating will display to anyone who comes to the site. My Book Ratings will be free to all users.
Finally, authors will have the ability to download rating icons and post them on our websites, blogs, and even on the books themselves. Most books that have been featured on Book Cave from November 2015 forward will automatically have a listing on My Book Ratings. You can add all your other books, as well as those you’ve read. Books are not subject to Book Cave’s editorial process, so all books submitted will be listed, with the exception of those that are grossly misrated (i.e. a horror story with gory murders or a steamy romance that say they are for All Ages). Keep in mind that readers are going to be posting their opinions on the ratings as well, and this will give an overall view of the book’s true content.
My Book Ratings will work similarly to the ESRB Game rating site, but will focus on books. Users will be able to search books by genres and ratings and come up with a list of books to check out and direct links to the various vendors.
Several months after My Book Rating debuts, we’ll be merging the current TipMyAuthor.com dashboards into the site so all authors will be able to easily list and rate their books, approve reader comments, and submit books for promotion on Book Cave.
This is a huge undertaking, but with the changes in literature in recent years, we feel it’s long overdue. We believe rating books helps readers find books and authors they’ll love and stick with long-term and give authors a better chance to connect with those readers and obtain great reviews. We’ll let you know when the site is up and running!
Thanks again for your support of content-rated books.
