February 14th is approaching fast. For all you book lovers out there looking for Valentine’s Day date ideas, we’ve put together a list of fun and creative activities. You can combine the ideas any way you want to make the perfect romantic Valentine’s date.
Go to a bookstore and challenge each other to find a book about a topic that describes your date or a book with a cover that reminds you of your date. Explain why you chose that book over a cup of steaming hot chocolate.
Go on a book scavenger hunt. This one is also done at a bookstore: make a list of items you want to find—like your favorite childhood book, the strangest cover you can find, a book about something you’re interested in learning more about, etc.
Read a chapter of your favorite book together during a romantic candlelit dinner.
Take turns dressing up and acting like book characters until the other person guesses who it is.
Recreate your favorite romantic scene or date from a book.
Go to a ball dressed up elaborately as your favorite book couple and stay in character throughout the evening.
Write little notes and put them in books at the library for others to find.
Buy a cheap picture book from the store and rewrite it together with pens and markers. Feel free to add more color, too!
Go to a different restaurant for each course of a meal and try foods that you’ve only read about but have never tasted. Tell your date what book you read, about the food, and how it compares to your expectations.
Play a book-related board game together, like Bookopoly, Wizard’s Chess, It Was a Dark and Stormy Night, and Trivial Pursuit (Book Lover’s edition).
Make a book-themed dinner, either together or before your date arrives, by choosing a favorite book (or books), and cooking popular food from that book.
