About this ebook

Her head tells her she should leave him alone. But her heart’s singing another song entirely…

For Ruby, working for a grumpy recluse is the perfect gig. After all, she’s a bit of an introverted loner herself. But her new employer is not what she expected. She never thought she’d end up working for a former rock star with enough emotional baggage to fill a stadium. And she certainly never thought she’d fall for him. But…here she is…

Tex was comfortable with isolation. After everything that’d happened, he deserved to be alone for the rest of his life. But then she showed up. Ruby shines brighter than any dreams he ever had. She deserves a good man who will never hurt her or break her heart. Too bad he hasn’t been that man in a long, long time…

When it turns out that fame isn’t quite done with Tex, can the fragile bonds he’s forged with Ruby in seclusion survive in the real world? Or will their happily ever after fade out on a sour note?

Got this as a freebie with the 6/30 stuff your ebook sale and am so glad I did. I normally don't read stories like this, but this one hit different and was so bittersweet in all the best ways. I am looking forward to the next book. Just the way this was written really pulled on my heartstrings and kept me captived the entire time.

You know I had no idea where this story was going. Because I read all the time, I can usually piece together what kind of book I'm reading. I thought it would be the same with this one. I was highly mistaken. I'm glad though, because this story is unique, as it doesn't follow the normal stereotype where the girl meets a rock star and he or she falls in love with the other and they can't be together because of her past or his career. I can gladly say that I'm looking forward to reading part two.

I liked the story, though I don't think it was necessary to mention on almost every page that Ruby doesn't like being around other people. It is obvious from the start and not necessary to repeat ad nauseam. The writing is poor. Reminded me of teenage fan fiction. The ending was awful. So much could have been done with that. Terrible ending.
