Priority Target The Carrie Chronicles #1 By Ethan Jones Ethan Jones has done it again. A fast paced spy thriller starring a member of CIS (Canada's equivalent to the CIA). But this time the focus is on Carrie O'Connor. Having worked in the past with Justin Hall we now get to know Carrie better as she takes on a mission to stop a known terrorist. But nothing ever works out just as planned and complications add to an already delicate situation. But Carrie's complications can be summed up with three little letters C.I.A. Using the skills one has come to expect from her over the years Carrie does what she does best. This is the first book in the Carrie Chronicles with the second due for release shortly so you won't have a long wait wondering what comes next. Get to know Carrie O'Connor as she deals with her day-to-day life both professionally and personally. This another engaging and entertaining story from Ethan Jones. If you haven't read his work in the past give it a start with Priority Target. Then you can check-out Justin Hall - Carrie's sometime partner in stopping international criminal terrorism. I was provided an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Another superb Ethan Jones action thriller. This time we follow CIS operative Carrie O’Connor as she undertakes a mission in Mogadishu before being asked to take on a side mission. Things are maybe not quite what they seem and Carrie has a tough job working out who to trust. Carrie is a tough no nonsense operative with a strong sense of right and wrong and bringing justice to those that think they can avoid it. This is a great action novel that’s full of firefights, fistfights, tension and mystery from an author at the top of the genre, recommended.

“A wise man once said: ‘We sleep safely in our beds because rough men stand ready in the night to visit violence on those who would harm us.’” I loved going on these crazy and adrenaline pumping adventures with Carrie! What an adrenaline rush! Carrie is everything I expected her to be, coming from Ethan Jones, no surprise. Carrie demonstrates a resilient attitude, having to go solo in a hostile environment. Also, it’s a lonely life of an operative, always having to put her dangerous job before her personal life, her family..a sad outcome, even though she enjoyed her excitement of her line of work. Intense and action filled, remorseless and deadly enemies, a continent full of greedy governments and cold blooded and traitorous police and military forces, a country full of despair, faulty politicians, huge inequality between social status, crude,harsh, gritty and sad outlook, it pulled at my emotional strings, a grim reality, completely related to our present day situation. An excellent first book of the series. I’m absolutely following this series too! Next read, Codename: Makarov.
