It was a good read to pass time. However, I started losing interest in book 7 partly because Kara is always so willing to accept her death and she always lives. She lives because she is the most important character and yet, at much as she has face she almost always accepts her fate as inevitable. She needs more of a will to fight not just for other but for herself.

I am not usually into this kind of story. I read a lot of horror novels and books that deal with historical fact in between books (IE: I read A Tale of Two Cities and The History of the Renaissance after reading Stephen King's Dark Tower series and The Stand). But I was looking to read something different, something out of my ordinary. It took me almost 4 months to read all 8 books in the series...4 MONTHS peoples! I could not put Kara Nightingale to bed. She is a fierce character, a force to be reckoned with but a pure soul. I absolutely loved the characters, the story lines, the peace, the war...just an incredible set. Kim Richardson has been added to my very short list of favorite authors!
