About this ebook

Can a former privateer and a determined heiress find lost treasure in 1725?
A brand new series for fans of all things related to history, romance, adventure, faith, and family trees.

Pasts Collide in New Orleans when a Treasure Goes Missing
The last time New Orleans attorney Jean-Luc Valmont saw Maribel Cordoba, a Spanish nobleman’s daughter, she was an eleven-year-old orphan perched in the riggings of his privateering vessel proving herself as the best lookout on his crew. Until the day his infamy caught up with them all and innocent lives were lost. Unsure why he survived but vowing to make something of the chance he was given, Jean-Luc has buried his past life so deep that no living person will ever find it—until a very much alive and very grown up Maribel Cordoba arrives on his doorstep and threatens all he now holds dear.

Join the adventure as the Daughters of the Mayflower series continues with The Pirate Bride by Kathleen Y’Barbo.

I immensely enjoyed this book. It was so cool being able to see the heroine Maribel Cordoba both as a child and as a young adult. I easily grew to love her exuberance and excitement. Seeing life as an adventure was such a fun point of view and I had difficulty putting the book down. Jean-Luc Valmont was also easy to love. A stern Capitan, but also a gentle and caring man, what’s not to love? I was whisked away to another time and taken on a great adventure on the sea. Seeing faith through the characters eyes as they lived their lives was a great reminder that He is with His children always. This book was not what I expected, and I loved every minute of it. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Historical Romance. The characters were unique and I wasn’t ready to say goodbye to them yet. I would love to see a sequel with the secondary characters (hint hint). I received a complementary copy of this book from Barbour Publishing and was under no obligation to post a review.
